His style of music was considerably different then being hardcore as happy hardcore and hardcore techno as this time was all the rage. He managed to get his first gig in 1997 playing in a renowned club in Tiverton: The Tube, he played on a number of different occasions that year due to the help of his now close mate and promoter Nick the Kid. Lee H’s first big (unofficial) gig was held in a huge chicken shed in Nomansland, the crowd was immense and they loved every minute of it! After that things ran pretty smoothly in 1998 for Lee, he entered a couple of DJs comps to gain experience and recognition and there was always a free party being held somewhere with a mass of raver’s that were well up for stomping it out to Lee H’s hard house bangers! In 1999 Lee managed to get signed by local promoters Big Hammer Promotions playing at a club near Crediton called Burston in Bow. The club was small (with a capacity of 400) but renowned for its underground scene. In 2000 Big Hammer Promotions began holding nights further a field at other venues in places such as Honiton: The Paradise Club or The Pit as it’s known by many of the locals and The Grove in Seaton. By 2001 Lee was playing almost every weekend and during this time he recorded as many demo tapes as possible for hand-outs at clubs and parties. A promoter called Jonah who ran Legend and Madhouse Mania heard a copy and gave Lee a call to see if he wanted to play at the Kingsleigh in Westward Ho!, these where much bigger nights with top headliners such as Tony De Vit, Steve Thomas, Trevor Rockliffe and Mrs Woods to name but a few. 2002 Really took off as Lee played at his first Headlining set at Burston on September 14th and the club was cram jammed! Lee managed to gain a load more work that night as he was approached by another promoter from the area that also held nights at the Burston, Mr Bernie Rubble. In 2003 Lee managed to gain a couple of sets abroad playing in Magaluff in Spain as well. In 2004 Lee took some time out to get his life back on track (recovery) and find a proper job. He now works for Devon County Council as one of there Corporate Information Officers. In 2005 Lee H finally got back behind the steels playing funky/electro house at various local pubs and clubs in the Exeter area such as The 3 Fat Fish, the Velvet Lounge, and the Zephyr bar. He entered the Dance Academy (Plymouth) DJ Comp and made it to the semis finals which was a fantastic boost and again gained him the recognition he desired. Now in 2006 Lee has his own radio slot on www.PleasureRadio.co.uk every other Sunday 18:00 20:00 playing Dirty/Electro/Funky House. Next year this station will be hitting DAB. Lee H is also moving on to produce his own music with his old pal Nick the Kid. Electro Brother will be there first release towards the beginning of next year. “I’d have to say my main inspiration was the late Tony De Vit. He was by far the best DJ ever to hit the circuit. I saw him play twice, once at Kingsley and once at Burston. That boy could mix like no other– R.I.P. to T.D.V!” Clubs played • Burston – (Big Hammer, Bernie Rubble) Bow Bars • Charlie’s - Magulff, Majorca
• The 3 Fat Fish - Exeter • Hole in the Wall - Exeter • The Cooperidge - Plymouth • The Velvet Lounge - Exeter • Zephyr Bar - Exeter Radio
